Breeds between 10S. and 38S. in the Andes from s. Peru (n. to Ancash and Junin), w. Bolivia (La Paz, Cochabamba, Oruro, Potosi) s. to c. Chile (Arica, Tarapaca, Antofagasta, Atacama, Coquimbo, Aconcagua, Santiago, Nuble) and nw. Argentina (Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, Tucuman, Mendoza).
